IETE's 47th World Telecommunication And Information Society Day Celebrations

16th May 2015

Dr. K. K. Saini, Professor from ECE Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended IETE's 47th World Telecommunication and Information Society Day celebrations on the theme "Telecommunications and ICTs: drivers of Innovation" on 16th May 2015 at IETE Delton Hall, New Delhi.

 

The chairperson of the inaugural session was Smt. Smriti Dagur, President, IETE. Shri Rakesh Garg, Chairman, Telecom Commission & Secretary, Deptt of Telecom, New Delhi was the Chief Guest on this august occasion. Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, EE Dept., IIT Delhi, Member (PT), TRAI & Editor - in - Chief, IETE, Technical Review was the Guest of Honor as well as the key note speaker.

 

The main topic of discussion at the event was technological advancements in telecom industry. The lecture provided significant knowledge about Telecom services. Prof. Kumar described the working model of telecom infrastructure in India and discussed about many recent advancements and subjects such as Net - neutrality.

 

This conference offered an opportunity to have rich interaction on the telecom technology. It provided first-hand knowledge about the organizational structures and modes of operation in a telecom industry. The participants connected themselves with the topic at a deeper level.

 

Maj. Gen P K Jaggia, VSM (Retd), Secretary General, IETE, India delivered the Vote of Thanks.
