GUEST LECTURE

Sqn. Ldr. Jitesh Kumar of Air Force Station Rajokri, New Delhi visited our institute on 4 Feb 2015 for delivering a motivational lecture to the III year students of all branches on “CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIAN AIR FORCE”. He briefed about selection criteria, procedure followed during entrance, experience ladder rank, pay and allowances in IAF and other facilities in much detail. Two lecture sessions of an hour each for different branches were conducted at College Auditorium. More than 400 students benefitted from these lecture sessions.

The salient points covered during the lectures are appended below:

1. The role of the IAF in Fighter, Transport, Electronic Warfare, Air Surveillance and R&D Operations.

2. The career opportunity categories in IAF under Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches.

3. Types of commission, their eligibility and selection procedure for different categories.

4. SSB exam pattern, psychology test, group testing, interview and conference.

5. Pay, Allowances and other perks offered by IAF for selected candidates.

6. The type of life & work environment prevailing in IAF.

The lecture were extremely useful for the students and helped encourage debate within students about various challenges faced during the SSB test / interview. The overall talk gave a very good and detailed exposure to the career opportunities available in Air Force and for engineers in particular. The talk was well appreciated by the students as per the feedback received from the students.
