MSME SOLAR/ LED EXPO- 2015

NATIONAL VENDOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM-CUM-INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION

2nd - 3rd December 2015

MSME Development Institute in association with Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India, NSIC, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), and IamSMEofIndia organized National Vendor Development Program –cum –Industrial Exhibition from 2nd - 3rd December 2015 at MSME Development Institute, Okhla, New Delhi. Ms. Amninder Kaur, Associate Professor from ECE department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.

 

The majors participants of the event were leading Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSUs), large and medium enterprises, MSEs, ancillary units, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and academicians. The exhibitors included solar energy harnessing manufacturers and suppliers, large energy users, energy suppliers and independent power producers.

 

The objective of the event was:

 

1. To create opportunity for MSME sector to develop themselves as potential vendors to Central Ministries/ Govt. Departments , Public Sector Undertakings and various other large & medium enterprises.

2. To develop business relationships, trust building and matchmaking ties between buyers and sellers.

3. To provide opportunity for product development, diversification, indigenization, assessment of market of the product/service.

4. To bring Govt. departments , CPSUs, Large Industrial Organizations, MSEs and various promotional agencies on a common platform to have dialogues for business promotion and Industrial development.

 

Mr Rajeev Chawla, President of Faridabad Small Industries Association, was the Chief Guest of the event. He told that the expo is expected to grow up by 20 to 30 percent next year and more organizations or foreign delegates will be asked to take part in the event so that domestic products get more exposure in front of the global counterparts. LED lighting is a better electricity solution as it consumes 15 percent lesser energy and also reduces emission of Co2 by 50 percent.

 

Mr. R. K Panigrahi, Director of MSME Development Institute had revealed that the Government is keen to increase usage of LED lighting and has taken significant steps to promote the same. State Governments and Municipal offices have also been requested to replace conventional street lights with LED lights and also use more LED lights across government offices and buildings. He explained that this will not only contribute to increase luminousness of the buildings but the government will also pay lesser electricity bills.

 

The event facilitated the procuring departments (Buyers) in selecting the right vendors to meet out their requirements. The programme provided a platform to Govt. organisations, PSUs, large companies to highlight their policies, vendor registration procedure, vendor rating system, purchase procedure, etc for vibrant economic growth of country.

 

Overall the event was informative and interesting. It provided a platform to MSME sector to showcase their capabilities and competencies for fostering closer working relationship for mutual business development.
